**Reflections**

  • I was waiting for the UPS Person all day, waiting for my BodyBugg. It finally arrived at 6pm, good gracious, what takes them so long to get to my house. I was once again being lazy, I didn't do much of anything, no exercise, no housecleaning nothing. This laziness explains why I am so Fat, I really think that is one of my major issues, I am just lazy. I ate well, staying within my calorie range, but I did have a case of the munchies, I just wanted to snack all day long. I did allow myself to snack often, just so I didn't feel deprived, I just ate the right kinds of snacks (fresh fruit, whole grains, etc.). I also found myself putting a ton of stuff on the plate for snacking, but then I wouldn't eat even half of it, because I was full. This is a big imporvment, before I would snack in huge portions and just keep snacking. So I was surprised when I couldn't finish the big plate that I had made up for snack. I did drink some calories, I had a juice at 3am, and then a vitamin water later in the day, I would really like to not drink many calories at all, but I am not drinking water now like I was in the beginning, I have gotten tired of it, and I am craving flavored things to drink. Since I have been under my calorie count a lot lately, I thought it would be okay to go ahead and drink some things with calories in them, to push up my calorie count a little. I am still not able to get to my calorie mark of 1968, and I have been trying, that is just too much food for me. But I do know that I ate way more calories than that before I started this, because I did log one meal the week before I started, only one meal because I was surprised at the calorie count in that meal (Close to 1000), so I know I was eating way over 1968 calories in a day before. But now it seems like a lot of food, because I am eating healthier foods, making better choices. One of my things going into this was that I didn't want to feel deprived at all, because if I do even for a minute, I will give up. I have in the past, did well for a few weeks, but as soon as I was tempted by a food I couldn't have, it was over, I would eat that food, and say well I failed and then give up. So this time I will not be depriving myself, so if it means that I go over my calories for the day, well then, I will just be over for that day, and I will get right back on track the next day. I now know my body does not need a ton of calories and junk to survive, it is doing just fine with the calories and foods I am eating right now.

**Reflections**

I woke up in a good mood even though I only slept for 6 hours but, that didn't last long. I thought that it was the 6th when it was truly the 5th, and that put me in a depressed mood. (I thought my BodyBugg was coming but it isn't scheduled to arrive until the 6th). So from that point on I was in a depressed mood all day, so I was being lazy and didn't do anything. Yes I know that if I would have gotten off my lazy butt, and did some exercise that would have most likely lightened my mood. But I just decided to be lazy. So no exercise now, for 2 days, and I am not happy about it, but, I will pick it up tomorrow. My eating went okay yesterday; I still came in under my calorie intake goals, which is okay by me. But, I did not eat my 4 meals, I only ate 3 meals, this included my Morning Meal (or Wake up Meal), and Brunch, and the Dinner. But I wasn't hungry at all. I made a protein shake in the morning, but it was way too thick, so I only drank part of it. When I make my next one, I will go lightly on the frozen fruit and see if that helps, if not I may have to use more milk, I just can't stand to drink something so thick. I made a new recipe for dinner again, this time a Crockpot meal it was really good, but was lacking some spice, so next time I will add some spices to it. All in all it was an okay day.

Daily Mood Check: Depressed but okay

**Reflections**

Well today started out horrible, I woke up with a migraine, because I forgot to drink any caffeine the day before. After a cup of coffee and a couple of Aleve, and some time it was gone. I was having some issues with my right calf muscle, so I decided to take the day off to rest it. Everything will return to normal tomorrow. I ate well, came in below my calorie range for SparkPeople and under my goal as well, but I wasn't hungry at all, well until around 2 am, but I did not eat anything then because I knew I just needed to go to bed. My BodyBugg should be here in a couple of days and I can't wait to get it. I am really curious as to how many calories I am really burning during the day. We are getting closer to Sunday, which is weigh-in and I am curious to how this week has went weight loss wise. I have stayed within the SparkPeople calorie range, everyday but 1, and that was the first day. I have been under my target calorie range everyday but the first day. I did not do a protein bar for my morning meal today (The meal before breakfast), I just ate a banana and I found myself really hungry by breakfast time. And I was also a little hungrier throughout the day, but once I had my meal I was fine. I also realized that I could eat lots of vegetables and not worry so much about the calories since most are lower calories. So I can see that in the future I will have to grocery shop for fresh produce every week. I made my first healthy dinner for Nina and I last night, we had baked "fried" chicken, a recipe I found on SparkPeople, canned corn, canned French cut green beans, brown rice, and my veggie mix (onions, yellow and green peppers, and mushrooms sautéed (using PAM)). It was confusing at first to figure the calorie count of the recipe and of my veggies, but I finally got it all figured out. (My chicken was not the same as the one used in the recipe, I also didn't have margarine, I only use real butter, so I had to do the calories myself). I t was a very filling dinner, the chicken was very yummy (Nina loved it), the rice was good, and the veggies were yummy. I couldn't eat everything that I put on my plate; it was just too much food. I did eat most of the veggies, and all of the chicken, but only at about ¾ of the rice, and ¾ of the mixed veggies. Later in the evening I decided to try one of the 100 calorie Ice Cream Bars that I purchased, it was also yummy. So all in all it was a great day.

Daily Mood Check: Happy, lonely, and a little stressed

Healthy Lifestyle Scale: Healthy

All in all yesterday was a good day. I hope today I can do better with the exercise. My eating is going well, and I am very proud of that. I am eating under 2000 calories most days, and I am not really hungry. I have found out that I really need to have a protein bar/shake first thing in the morning I do not have the urge to snack throughout the day. I really need to start taking my vitamin and supplements, but I forget about them. I will talk to you all tomorrow.

**Reflections**

It was a stressful day, but a good day for me. The battery in my car died, and since my husband is out of town, it took me forever to get someone to come and jump it off. I went grocery shopping, and that was also stressful because my daughter just didn't want to behave. But on the bright side, I didn't overeat because of the stress and was actually under my calorie intake for the day. I did not get to strength train, because my body just wouldn't let me, so I am taking another look at my fitness plan, and I think I am going to have to take more days off than I originally thought. I am just more out of shape than I thought. This upsets me a lot, but there is no one to blame but me. So I think I will be taking every other day off from walking, and just do some strength training with some mild cardio (Like the wii fit, just to give my body a break). My foot was killing me while grocery shopping and hurt for several hours afterward. I hope that with losing weight, that pain will stop. Only time will tell though.

Being Accountable

In the past when dieting, I never held myself accountable and I do think that is one of the many reasons why I failed in the past. This time since I am not dieting, but instead changing my lifestyle, I decided that I needed to be more responsible and to own up to my short comings. I am doing this by, keeping a food log and tracking my fitness activities daily on SparkPeople.com (Great site, I love it). I am also writing daily blogs there, along with posting on some of the many message boards, I also joined some teams there and have signed up for team goals, and since I don't like to let people down, this will keep me on the right track.

This is also the main reason I started this blog, was so that I could come here daily and tell everyone about my successes along with any failures or short comings that I had. Well, I wasn't sure how I was going to do that, until a couple of days ago, I was browsing through some of the personal journals on SparkPeople, when I came across this great journal that had a daily Accountability report. I said to myself, "Now that is a great idea for my blog", so I asked the author of that journal if I could steal her idea and use it elsewhere, and she said sure. So today I am going to start posting the report. Each day's post will be the report for the previous day, and will also include some goals, for the month, week, and weight loss goals.

Okay without further ado here is the report for yesterday:

**Reflections**

So I had an afternoon snack attack. I really should have gone to the grocery store on Saturday. The reason for the snack attack was because I was tired and I was starving. The lack of healthy food in the house caused me to eat a lot of food that just wasn't very filling in small quantities, thus making me very hungry. I tried my best to stay within the calorie range, but finally I couldn't take it any longer and had to eat. I tried to eat as healthy as I could, but that was almost impossible, since we have a lot of unhealthy foods in the house still. I plan on going grocery shopping in the next few days, after that I am sure it will be easier to stay within my calorie range. I was really proud of my water intake, by the afternoon I had gotten tired of drinking plan water and really would have liked to have something else; I am only drinking coffee or water during the day right now. I did purchase some Vitamin Water and Propel water to have occasionally but did not want to drink either yesterday afternoon since I knew I was already over in calories. I also found out some things about myself that I did not realize before, I mindlessly eat (I caught myself eating tootsie rolls while talking on the phone, I only had eaten 4 but I was doing it without thinking), I eat when I am tired, I had no idea that I eat when I start to get tired, I was really surprised by these two facts. It also isn't that bad measuring things and logging the food. I am surprised about the calorie count of some items, like sugar, I never knew that sugar had so many calories, and also buffalo chicken strips have a lot of calories, who knew? I was a little disappointed about not walking at all, but Nina just refused to go, she isn't really feeling well, so I thought it best not to push the matter. Hopefully she will be feeling better later this week and we can start to walk. So far I think I am off to a good start, even with missing my calorie intake, since I know for a fact that I was eating closer to 4000 calories or more a day before, I feel as though this is a great improvement. I still can't remember to take my vitamin and supplements more than once a day, so I may start looking to see if I can find some that I only have to take once a day or I may just start taking all the pills at once.

End of Report!

I feel as though I did really well yesterday, like I said in the reflections portion of the report, I was eating at least 4000 calories a day before, with little to no exercise, besides cleaning the house, etc. So what I did yesterday was a great improvement. I am not upset at all about the calories, as I will not be upset if I happen to go over today either, it is really hard when you don't have healthy foods in your home to stay within a certain amount of calories. So I am doing the best that I can before I go grocery shopping. Nina is not feeling all that well, and she really doesn't want to go out, which is unusual for her. I think once I get Fresh fruit and vegetables, some whole grains, and just healthier all around foods in the house it will become easier to stay within my calorie range. I honestly didn't realize that it would be so hard with the foods that I had/have on hand, but I am now realizing that the "normal" foods we eat do not fill you up unless you eat more. I was hoping that eating every 2 hours would keep me full longer, but it didn't work at all yesterday. I am serious when I say I was starving yesterday evening, and so was Nina and she had been eating everything that I ate yesterday. So I know it was just the choices that I made, that caused my calorie intake to go up.

So far today has gone a little better. My calorie intake was a little higher for Breakfast and Lunch than it was yesterday, and I did eat a Protein Bar a couple of hours before breakfast (Nina ate ¼ of the bar also, she just wouldn't stop stealing pieces, and she had already eaten a PB&J). And honestly I haven't been hungry at all since breakfast. I did my Wii Fit for 30 minutes this morning for the first time, but I could not play some of the games as well as I usually do, because my body just wouldn't let me. After lunch I did my Walk away The Pounds DVD (only 1-15 mile +warm up + cool down), wow what a workout. I did have some trouble keeping up, but I did the best I could. I am not very coordinated, so that doesn't help with the side steps, arm motions, kicks and things. At the end my legs were pretty wore out, but I did do the cool down, as I don't want to get into the habit of not doing it. I did feel real good afterwards. I just didn't realize that I had let myself get so out of shape, A few years ago I would have been able to do at least a 2 mile walk before I would feel it, now I am lucky to get through 1 mile. But I was happy that I got through the 1 mile, I didn't think I would. Nina did the workout with me, it was very cute, she couldn't keep up but she tried, and she was great at telling me what to do!

So far I am off to a good start, I am proud of me!

Until Tomorrow,

JT
